Academic Affairs Office and Office of the Dean
The Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs (VCAA) and Dean is the Chief Academic Officer of the University, with oversight responsibilities for faculty personnel issues (hiring, reviews, salaries, promotions, tenure, faculty development, etc.), curriculum (as Chair of the Curriculum Committee), and student issues in the academic realm (petitions, exceptions, Dean's List, MAPs, MAIs, etc.). The VCAA reports directly to the Chancellor and serves in the Chancellor’s place when that officer is unavailable.

The Academic Assistance Center is a resource created to allow UMM students to maintain their standards, reach their academic goals, and enrich their education. Tutors are available for almost all courses offered at UMM as well as drop-in assistance in mathematics, study skills and reading workshops, tutoring and English language support for students who have English as a second language, and services for students with disabilities.

The AAC also helps coordinate the Disability Services Office, which provides support for students with physical, mental, and/or cognitive disabilities at no extra cost. Disability Services can assist disabled students in accessing campus programs and facilities by providing services such as disability documentation, information, referral, and reasonable accommodations. Admissions and Financial Aid Office
The Admissions and Financial Aid Office is the primary source of information about the University for prospective students; it provides college bulletins, brochures, and other printed materials regarding all phases of the institution and its policies and programs. In addition, the office arranges personal visits with admission counselors or with University faculty to discuss programs in which a student is interested.
The goal of the UMM financial aid program is to enable all qualified students to attend UMM regardless of their available financial resources. The program is designed to provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, student employment, and loans to as many students as possible in an equitable and consistent manner.

The Rodney A. Briggs Library and its reference staff provide a full range of library services to support UMM academic programs. In addition to materials and services available on campus, Briggs Library is linked through the internet to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus libraries and other libraries in Minnesota and the world. The library’s interlibrary loan service is also available for obtaining materials from other libraries for academic work.

The Business Office is located on the second floor of Behmler Hall. This office is responsible for the collection of payment of student tuition, fees, housing, food, etc. This is also the central accounts payable office for UMM. The Bursar and the "U" Card Office are also located in the Business Office.

Undergraduate Research Opportunity ProgramThe Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program offers financial awards to undergraduates for research, scholarly, or creative projects undertaken in partnership with a faculty member. UROP affords undergraduates the unique educational experience of collaborating with a faculty member on the design and implementation of a project. At the same time, faculty have the opportunity to work closely with the students and receive valuable assistance with their own undergraduate experience. It encourages students to conduct research and pursue academic interests outside of their regular courses by employing them to work on special projects.

The Chancellor’s Office is charged with the overall responsibility for the well being of the entire campus: academic programs, fiscal health, the physical campus, faculty, staff, and student well-being. Computing Services provides technical support for students, faculty, and staff. The equipment and services offered by UMMCS are available to the instructional, research, and administrative programs of the University. UMMCS is staffed by full-time and student consultants during all hours. User assistance and technical support are available at the help desk. Computing Services also schedules free, open seminars and workshops to introduce many frequently used applications.

The Division of Humanities is composed of ten disciplines which include: art history, studio art, English, French, German, music, philosophy, Spanish, speech communication, and theatre arts. UMM’s Division of Science and Mathematics offers excellent preparation for employment in a related field, graduate study, or teaching in junior or senior high school. The Division of the Social Sciences includes the disciplines of anthropology, economics, geography, history, management, political science, psychology, and sociology. The social sciences consist of the branches of study dealing with the structure of society and the activities of its members. Environmental Health and Safety
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety is committed to providing a safe and healthful environment for all students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors. DEHS staff members respond to individual requests for assistance in such areas as chemical exposure, ergonomics, and indoor air quality. In addition, DEHS staff assist academic and service units by establishing standards, interpreting regulations, reporting on compliance, providing technical services, recommending corrective actions, and providing training resources.

Faculty Center for Learning and Teaching

The primary responsibility of the UMM Food Service Cafeteria is to satisfy the food requirements of the students who are on UMM residence hall board and room contracts. Others who are not on the board program, may, however, participate in the "all you can eat" buffet option by paying the posted meal prices.
Turtle Mountain Café:
The Turtle Mountain Café is a service run by the contracted Food Service. It is located in the Student Center and offers an ala carte, short-order alternative for the campus community as well as for UMM visitors.

The purpose of the Office of Fund Development is to facilitate private philanthropic support for UMM by fostering the interest, involvement, and commitment of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends for the benefit of UMM students and advancement of the University of Minnesota, Morris. The UMM Office of Fund Development links the campus to the University of Minnesota Foundation, which charitably receipts all gifts according to Regent's policy.

The Grants Development Office provides assistance to faculty and staff in seeking and administrating external funds. The GDO is also part of the all-university Office of Sponsored Projects Administration. The GDO assists with proposal writing, review, editing, budget development and submission procedures, as well as monitoring the progress of funded projects. The Grants Development Advisory Group advises the GDO. Each Division has a representative on the advisory group.

Health care is available through UMM’s Health Service, located in Clayton A. Gay Hall. The Health Service functions as an outpatient clinic providing services similar to those of a family physician. Health Services offers the following clinical services: outpatient treatment of injuries and illnesses, immunizations, medication, and certain laboratory work.

Media Services provides a full range of services in the production and presentation of media (video, audio, multimedia, and graphics) with television studios and other equipment used by and for faculty and students in both curricular and extracurricular areas. Plant Services maintains and operates the campus physical facilities which includes building grounds, utilities, heating plant, communications, environmental and health safety, and custodial services. Plant Services also can provide technical assistance for facilities planning and estimating, coordination of construction, and communication services. The University of Minnesota, Morris Campus Police department is responsible for law enforcement, security, and emergency response on the Morris campus. A security staff person is on duty 24 hours a day during the academic year and provides police help in investigations, medical emergencies, fires, traffic accidents, crime reports, and the enforcement of laws regulating the use of alcohol, weapons, and controlled substances. Duplicating Services prints and duplicates various examinations, news releases, work forms, publications, and documents, and performs enlargements or reductions for distribution on campus. The Registrar’s Office integrates the Morris campus record-keeping, transcript auditing, and registration system with the University-wide computerized system and maintains flexibility to respond to individual and local campus needs. The office evaluates transfer credits, manages registration procedures, schedules classes, publishes the UMM Class Schedule, controls the permanent records for day school students, issues transcripts and certifications of attendance, manages Academic Progress and Advising System (APAS) degree audit reporting system, assigns UMM student PO boxes, provides lists of graduating seniors and awards degress.

UMM has five residence halls, ranging from small and traditional to large and contemporary: Blakely Hall, Clayton A. Gay Hall, Independence Hall, Pine Hall, and Spooner Hall. The Office of Special Events coordinates campus recognition and external relations programs, including Commencement, the annual Faculty/Staff Recognition Banquet, the Student Honors and Awards Day and special visits to campus by legislators, donors and other dignitaries. UMM Student Affairs strives to provide a residential, social, and learning environment conducive to all aspects of student development. Student Affairs includes the offices of the Career Center, Student Counseling, Health Services, Intercollegiate Athletics, Minority Student Program, Residential Life, and Student Activities and is involved in comprehensive student development programs such as new student orientation and diversity education initiatives. The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (VCSA) is responsible for creating and sustaining an environment that advances student success, serves diverse constituencies, and fosters a sense of community within Student Affairs and across campus. Students, faculty, and staff often consult with the VCSA on issues related to student involvement, campus life, student safety and health, academic integrity, and student behvior. The Office of Student Activities coordinates and supports UMM’s extracurricular social, educational, cultural, and recreational programs. Student Counseling at Morris helps students through the intellectual, physical, spiritual, emotional, occupational, and social level challenges they face through their passage into adulthood. The counseling staff helps students become aware of potential problems, pitfalls, and opportunities during this exciting challenging, and often difficult transition in life.
Student Counseling is UMM’s testing center for institutional placement exams including mathematics and foreign language, exams for credit (CLEP), and national undergraduate and graduate school admission or licensing exams.

Continuing Education provides educational opportunities and outreach programs and services throughout west central Minnesota for individuals, groups, and organizations that wish to take advantage of the resources of the University of Minnesota.
A variety of outreach programs are offered. Continuting Education organizes and administers evening and summer session classes, including a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, credit and non-credit courses. In addition to serving as a liaison between the University of Minnesota Extension Service and the campus, Continuing Education offers educational advising services for nontraditional students.

University of Minnesota-Morris Retiree's Association
The University of Minnesota-Morris Retirees Association (UMMRA) is an organization that helps current employees transition to retirement, keeps the concerns of the retirees on the University agenda, and provides social interaction. Members receive periodic newsletters and communications, both about activities on campus and about activities sponsored by UMMRA, like its quarterly luncheons and its Heritage Preservers grant program. If you join, you are welcome to become a participant in all activities as your location, interest, and schedule allow.
UMMRA offers retired members certain benefits and perks such as group campus parking permits; and the UMMRA is continually trying to upgrade benefits for retirees in the Morris area. There is a representative to the all-University Retirees Association Board in Minneapolis. That Board plays an active role in the formulation of University-wide retirement plans and health benefits.
If you would like to support what the Morris area retirees are doing and keep up to date on UMMRA activities, you may join UMMRA, whether or not you have yet retired. The annual dues are $5.00 for individuals, $10.00 for couples. The Office of University Relations serves as the public information and public relations unit of the University of Minnesota, Morris. Among its many services, the University Relations staff writes and distributes news releases about UMM students, faculty, staff, programs, and events to a wide variety of local, statewide, and national media. University Relations coordinates special events and schedules campus spaces and visits. In addition, University Relations serves as a liaison between the University of Minnesota, Morris and many local, state, and national constituents, providing information on a wide variety of topics.
