Brunnenburg Castle and Dorf Tirol

Where peacefulness and beauty reign

Dorf Tirol

Picturesque surroundings implanted in my mind,
Every direction contains beauty of all kinds.

Life distractions, I give them no thought,
Not in a valley uncontaminated by distraught.

Running in circles can become so mundane,
Troubles encountered fill us with pain.

But, peace lingers throughout towers and halls,
Sorrows cannot penetrate a castle wall.

Filled by an aura that cannot be explained
It forces me to reflect on everything gained.

I may continue travels, but never will find,
Picturesque surroundings that will implant in my mind.

"The Brunnenburg Castle is beautiful. I feel that the architecture of ancient times far surpasses the present. I can only imagine what historic events have taken place between these walls. Dorf Tirol is a quiet attractive village. It will be a pleasure spending two weeks here."

The above excerpt from my journal was written the first day I arrived in Dorf Tirol and Brunnenburg castle. My excitement never left. I truly fell in love with the castle and the surrounding area. The village people adopted us into their town. We spent evenings at the Treff, a local bar, and met a variety of people. We developed friendships with people such as Christian, Sergio, and Anita. We also found a family at Brunnenburg castle.

I cannot forget the food. We were served with authentic meals that kept us pleasantly plump for the entire stay. I guess there is no way I can totally explain how I felt in Dorf Tirol and Brunnenburg. You will have to experience the feeling for yourself. -Kris Hjelmeland
