What influenced your decision to become a chemistry major at UMM?

Part of a pre-med program.

Which courses (chemistry or non-chemistry related) left a lasting impression on you and why?

Loved physical chem. with Prof. Togeas, because it synthesized chem, physics, and math in fascinating ways.

Enjoyed working with Dwight Purdy on courses on the English novel and Yeats' poetry.

Describe your involvement in undergraduate research:

Did research at Mayo Clinic in pharmacology.

Life after UMM

How did your experiences at UMM prepare you for your path after graduation?

A true liberal arts education has been essential for any academic success that I have had.

What advice would you give to incoming UMM students?

Try to spend some time in the humanities (not just the requirements).

What did/do you find most valuable about your chemistry degree from UMM?

Analytical thinking.
