Undergraduate Research Opportunity: Position Description

The Chemistry Discipline at the University of Minnesota, Morris was recently awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation's Course Curriculum and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI) Program. This project (DUE-0535763), entitled "Integration of Conducting Polymers Across the Undergraduate Chemistry Curriculum," is under the direction of Ted M. Pappenfus, Jennifer A. Goodnough, Nancy Carpenter and Tim Soderberg.

Funding is available to support two students over a ten week period in Summer 2006 for work on this project. Tentative dates are June 12, 2006 to August 18, 2006 . The application deadline is Friday, March 3, 2006 .

Students will work cooperatively with UMM faculty in designing general and organic chemistry experiments related to conducting polymers. General duties will include literature searching, synthesis, data collection and analysis, experimental design and scientific writing.
